When I was taking back my 701 they tried to get me to buy a lens
cleaner to see if it would help. I said that it damaged the lens. They
didn't beleave me.

Just try a pipe cleaner between the ears, in one and out the other. :)
The LENS cleaner disc will destroy your LENS.
I use my T shirt and take my glasses offand I can clean the LENSES just
fine.
