Joep asked, | I'v got an sony minidisc d-365 and an sony MD-recorder MZ-R37. | My discman has got an optical output, but i doesn't seem to work. | When i connect my optical cable to my discman i don't get any signal, i | don't see any bright light ! Is this normal. | The manual says that is does have an optical output. According to other posts on this list and in other MD discussion fora, some portable CD players with optical output will actually give a signal only if they're plugged into wall power and/or only when they're actually playing (or paused while playing) a track. So if you're running the D365 on batteries and getting no red glow, try plugging it into a wall socket. If you're getting no glow when it isn't playing, check the output while you're playing a CD. It might be easier to check by plugging the miniplug end of the cable you already have into the the CD player (though that would mean disconnecting it from your MD recorder temporarily) and seeing if there's a glow out the other end of the cable than by trying to see into the CD player's optical output jack. | what am i to do, is there any special cable for the discman-mindisc | connection( other than an (regular) miniplug-miniplug optical cable ??) Nothing else; that is exactly the cable you need, or a TOSlink-to-miniplug adaptor for the TOSlink end of the cable you already have. ----------------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
