Apple unveiled a small new iPhone, a new iPad for business use and price cuts for its Apple Watch at a product event Monday.

Sales of Apple’s flagship iPhone are leveling off after surging last year to record levels that made Apple the world’s biggest company by stock market value. Many wonder if CEO Tim Cook can come up with another big hit.

The new iPhone SE is an upgrade to the 4-inch iPhone 5S, released in 2013. It’s aimed at consumers who haven’t sprung for the bigger-screen iPhone 6 models Apple introduced over the last two years.

The Apple Watch got a price cut and will now start at $299, down from $349.

Apple’s lawyers had expected to square off with authorities in federal court Tuesday over the FBI’s demand for help unlocking a San Bernardino, Calif., killer’s encrypted iPhone, but the hearing was abruptly vacated Monday after the FBI revealed it may have a way to access data without the company’s help.

Also on Monday, the Supreme Court said it will review a $399 million judgment against South Korea-based Samsung for illegally copying patented aspects of the look of Apple’s iPhone.

The case will be argued in the court’s new term that begins in October.
