WILMINGTON, Del. -- A judge presiding over Tribune Co.'s Chapter 11
bankruptcy case will take up a dispute with actor Warren Beatty over the TV
and movie rights to comic book character Dick Tracy.

Tribune Media Services, a Tribune subsidiary, has been feuding with Beatty
over the rights to the cartoon detective.

Tribune attorneys want the Delaware bankruptcy court to declare that the
media company owns the rights. Attorneys for Beatty are pushing for a jury
trial in California and plan to ask that Tribune's filing be dismissed.

The judge agreed Thursday to have preliminary briefs submitted by both
sides by early June.
