I just updated
Thanks Max, just checking before I start upgrading. Didn't really plan on doing
the upgrades until March but I guess I'll have to accelerate that plan and live
on 5.6 until I can get to it.

I'm talking about PHP7 in general. If you're interested in particulars, yes
- our testing infrastructure is running 7.0.15 :)

I think you mean 5.6, there is no such thing as php version 6.5. PHP skipped
from 5.x to 7.x version wise.

So 1.27 has been tested with php 7.0.15? .15 was just released on Jan 19, I
don't even have my local development box updated to 7.0.15 yet to test it.

Does look like there was DOM change in .15.

MW 1.23 is extremely old (will be completely out of support this May) and
does not officially support PHP7. You need to upgrade - if you want to
stick to long term support releases then your choice is 1.27 otherwise just
install latest.

Hi all,
Host updated from php 7.0.x(can’t remember exact but I think it was .14 last
time I checked) to 7.0.15 Jan 19 build. MW 1.23.15 was working fine and really
fast on php 7 until the update to 7.0.15 overnight. Now I’m seeing this error.

Hi all,
I am very confusing about how Wikipedia and MediaWiki sites can treat Maths. If
we all agree that texvc and maths in png images are ugly and obsolete, it seems
that Mathoid is "is the most recommended option; Mathoid is the rendering mode
that will be used on Wikipedia in the future.” (
