Hello,
I have a wiki with instant commons enabled. When using images from Commons,
the thumbs are sometimes served from there, and sometimes from my server.
How does that work? What causes the wiki to use remote thumbs?

I just moved all images on my wiki to Amazon, for performance. Now I wonder
what the best way is to change all thumb and image paths in the wiki.

Is there a reason you can't use seperate subdomains? Like blog.domain.com or

What would be the best way to do A/B testing on a MediaWiki site? I guess a few
people here might have tried before me. (Mostly interested in the mainpage, but

$wgUseInstantCommons will often not work on intranets due to firewalls and
stuff. The other day I tried to enable it on a private wiki, resulting in each

There is only the double underline (‗, A̳) in Unicode, but I guess you could
hack something together by creating a template with something like 𝍢, and include that
template after whatever you want triple underlined.

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to achieve here, it sound from your
descriptions like you might find the Semantic MediaWiki family of extensions
useful. It lets you store pieces of data together with a page, and you have far
better ways to display this data in arbitrary ways, or mak
