My guess is that mpirun tries to setup the connection to all nodes (every cpu core is counted as a single node) and fails. OpenMPI may use different methods for connection to nodes - ssh, rsh, shared memory etc. In your case it looks like trying rsh - this is AFAIK default OpenMPI behaviour. Read O

Sanchit, The problem is that your incident flux is being bombarded by reflections coming from the structure. The proper way to normalize is to run the simulation twice, once without the structure in question, and once with the structure in question. Since in this case the entire waveguide is wha
