Dear Steven and other meep users,
I have a problem with the parallelization of my simulations. We have a cluster
with several nodes. Every node is connected with each other through a one Gbit
Ethernet switch. Every node has two processors with two physical cores, i.e.,
four cores. I have found the efficiency of every cores is high (about 80%) when
we parallelize only one node, i.e., four cores. However, the efficieny is low
(about 50%) when we parallelize two nodes, i.e., eight cores. I don't know why
the efficieny become low. Are there some problems with meep-mpi or the Ethernet
swith?
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Li
