You can't run .21 under your test on freebsd 10.1? I really highly doubt
anything we changed in .22 would cause a bug like this.

Further test did not reproduce the error so the chance is high that either
FreeBSD 10.1 or Memcached 1.4.22 fixed it. As we don't know wh
