Hey, The protocol.txt is canonical for memcached proper. the mysql documentation are based on a fork. The stats are pretty confusing, I apologize. Your problem is likely slab calcification. You need to look at 'stats slabs' and not strictly 'stats items'. There're a few stats counters under
