Got my Topsider out this afternoon and found the pump no longer worked. But I had a old yard sprayer and a shopvac ;-) Viola - my oil change sucks again. I do need to find some combinations of tubing/hose that won't restrict the flow so much. It took some time but I finally got it all out.

Check your glow plugs -- rough idle on start is often a weak or shorted one not pre-heating one cylinder. Shakes terribly until all of them fire. Also check (and probably replace) the transmission mount -- if it's soft, it will allow the rear of the transmission to vibrate up and down.

Be careful you don't use a plastic tube so flimsy/weak that it'll collapse under suction while you're evacuating oil. If you don't let air, oil, etc. into your container/receiver and the sucker/vac cleaner keeps running, you'll likely collapse the receiver and have a really black oil mess. A
