Very possible you have a flaky chip, Apple runs pretty close to the
limits with ram. I believe that was the case with mine, when I
replaced one stick it worked fine for six years.

I was running some new memory for a year or two alongside the factory
stuff and it was fine. I took out the new ones and was just using the
factory stuff to make sure that wasn't the issue, I think I will swap
