I bought a Bosch front loader a few years ago. Other than the front loader thing of tying all the shirts into knots and jumping around, it's a great washer. For absolutely best life though, I'd second the Speed Queen. Make sure it's well bolted down though, they don't have "wobble" sensors

About twenty years ago we bought Kenmore stackable front loaders, they are holding up pretty well. Had to replace the dryer drum bearing a couple years ago, that's it. I think the guts are Maytag? If you stick with the basic models, avoid all the fancy stuff that has more to break, I'll bet

Ahhh... I'll address your question more specifically now. For best effect, using only cold water, [Or hot water, for that matter] I've found the nozzle that has an oscillation spray pattern to have the greatest effect. The pulsation of that nozzle arrangement seems to have more "get it done"
