M103 and M104 head gaskets start leaking oil out of the passenger side rear corner at about 100k miles. IIRC, some (most?, all?) M103 engines came with brass, not bronze valve guides. If he just changed the head gasket without having the head rebuilt, that's quite an oversight. It's not worth
