Noticeably more powerful than a 240D... less issues up steep hills. Very
quick off the line, faster than a turbo as it has no turbo lag.
I recently drove a very late euro 300D with a 722.4 in it and also found it

The 200D Frankenheap, manual, was massively more fun to
drive than the 190D 2.5 manual conversion. Never felt 'slow'
at all. Night-and-day difference when compared to the 240D
slushbox I had briefly. The 200D topped out at about 85, it

Nope, I was wondering the same. A 240D manual is just on the edge of
reasonable, a 2.2l manual 190D is a little better and a 190D 2.5l manual is a
little better than that. I think a manual 617 non-turbo would be a reasonable
drive, sedate but not pokey.

Have you driven a NA 617 diesel with a stick? I ask because I haven’t, and I
would be interested in anyone’s insights into such a combination. I’ve had cars
with the slushbox setup and they’re almost 240D automatic dangerously slow.

It's an interesting car, grey market yet the gauges are all US spec, no AC
(not that I can see anyway) but it's got an electric sunroof.
Pretty cool car, I'm glad it's on the wrong side of the country or I might be

Gray market car. The upholstery and AC controls give it away. A bit rough, but
would probably be fun, at least as much fun as one could have in a non-turbo

Want some projector headlights for your first gen W210? I had a Camelcamelcamel
