No, not at all. I had the same discrepancy in my 83 300 TD although that
car had the transmission replaced with one from a 1985 300d. I always
assumed that the mismatched transmission might have had something to do
with the speedometer being inaccurate.

I recently had the odometer repaired but the tech was unable to explain the
discrepancy. Any suggestions? There are no records of the po having
worked on this. Could this be an

Other than the godawful tedium of the color scheme, there are no obvious
issues. The '85 models seldom have rust from my experience, and the
engines are indestructible. If you buy it I can advise on repair issues
and parts availability.

Last year for the W220, looks to be in good shape, miles reasonable for 17yo
car. Air suspension is always a concern so that would be a question to ask.

Rusty, and accoring to the Mercedes Medic, although it's not a "350" these M272
engines could have the bad balance shaft parts.
Probably more like a $2K car depending on extent of rust and whether the engine
is a newer one.
Wonder what the recall is? I guess with the VIN one could find out. Why not get
it fixed, esp. if you're going to be selling the car? Looks clean and I like
the color scheme but seems a little overpriced.
There's an injury lawyer in town that has one of those, or something similar.
He likes to cruise around downtown on Sundays drawing attention.

That's some serious rust around the rear window. Expect the interior to be full
of water. Extra 5 in the price.

With the level of rust it has, and the location of the rust, it isn't worth
repair. Parts car.

A buddy bought one of these back in the early 90s and it turned out a
lot of the parts on the car were straight Chrysler bits and were readily
available for pretty cheap if he cross-referenced the Chrysler/Maser
part, or took it in and found it on the shelf
