I've got a variety of liquid fueled torches. I can't remember if this little
guy burns alcohol or gasoline: https://photos.app.goo.gl/QikswMykEiNpxjT78
I don't know what you'd use it for either but its kind of fun.
This one is a Turner, it burns kerosene:
I have Aussies in class this week (7pm to midnight), its winter time for them.
I asked "What does winter in Sydney really mean?" Turns out its low to mid 50s
for overnight lows. Not unlike our overnight low here...

And no propane torches. Pump-up gasoline torches only. The occasional explosion
will only make you a manlier man.

I have a plumber in the family and they’re not keen about the Sharkbite
fittings. A proper crimp with PEX or copper and Robert is your next of kin.

The metal fittings the PEX goes over can/will split if there is water in

That sounds like PEX A which is stretched over the fitting and held on with
another ring of (formerly stretched) PEX. I've wondered if that would be an
issue. They SAY PEX wants to return to it's original shape but I've wondered.
PEX B gets held on with a metal ring. I used copper because I
PVC pipes get brittle as they age also.
Copper and soldered joints can corrode.
No such thing as "permanent" plumbing at least not for what most people would
be able to afford.
If PEX is good for domestic hot water (usually hotter than 110F) I would think
it would be good for warm ambient
I agree in not trusting sharkbite fittings. Sadly it's probably one of those
things where 99% of the time they work fine but I don't want to be in the 1%.
I MIGHT use one as a "get by" solution. Leaky pipe, don't have time to do a
proper fix today? Slap on a sharkbite and fix later, but not long
> PEX ... (someone slamming a full open valve closed) they are letting loose.
Humph. Never happened with lead pipes...

Many folks utilized PEX in the spaces below their manufactured homes out here.
They have learned that when the ambient temperature stays stupid hot that the
connections get squishy and at the first small system perturbation (someone
slamming a full open valve closed) they are letting loose.
I
I remember it being a fad word from the late 1980s or so.

All I know is that I'm hoping to move away from the 17" wheels on our W210
Yes if I ever need to re-plumb a house I will be using PEX.
Brother-in-Law is a fan of the "Sharkbite" fittings but they cost a lot and I
don't really trust them long term compared to a properly cemented or soldered
connection, their claims notwithstanding. I know a lot of "handyman" types use
