I agree, I think its euro also. I noticed a few other differences besides the
hubcaps: Curved euro trailer hitch, no nets on seat backs, 2 piece bumper
rubber, no wood in shifter console, white dipstick, no front fan which probably
means no A/C (optional in europe). The antenna is either manua
Something unusual about that 300TD. It has manual windows, no SLS resivor, no
tach, 240D type climate control, cloth seats. This completely different from
my 85 300TD.
Would this be a euro model? I did think euro had turbos. Wish mine had that
climate control like on my 240D.

One of the MB manual CDs includes o'scope shots of various wave forms that
let you differentiate between the two diode sets - peaks up or down - to
isolate which ones are bad. I think I saw it in the 124 set.

Umm I thought that most VOM/DVM's had a capacitor in series with the
input... This ensures that only the ac component is measured.
True, to a point. Don`t expect much from a Harbor Freight type of meter.
Depends on the quality (price) of the multimeter (DVM/VOM). More expensive

I'll second that thought.
Would that also manifest itself as a measurable AC waveform on top of the
expected DC voltage? (I would also expect that it would kill batteries)
If you had a o`scope, you would be able to see the ac and dc waveforms, but
a multimeter will just average the reading

Sounds like maybe a crankcase ventillation system. Some had oil filler caps
