See if it's loose enough to slide as is - I've never needed to loosen them,
and haven't bothered to try and tighten them either (looking for wood to
knock on).

I have say to first loosen the nuts between the support and u-joint 2
turns. I don't have a wrench big enough for that. What size do I need to
borrow/steal/buy? Any tips about replacing the support? TIA all,
