It’s got the 3.8l OHC inline six, which was actually a pretty robust engine. I’ve rebuilt several of these (engines) and if you take the supporting systems that go with them (especially electrical!) out of the equation they are good engines. The Mark 9 was sort of a LWB version of smaller

Dropped the pan on the 617 doing the turbo oil drain. Whoever removed pan before used rtv on it. I had a new pan gasket in stock but thing might be 15 years old. Torqued bolts to spec. Filled with oil, pan leaks badly. Tightened them down just a bit more and leaks slowed down but still leaks.

Oh yeah, Crowdstrike have just about admitted that they screwed up, they've already released a patch. I just now realized that I have a bunch of actual systems in a lab that I need for next week's class which I can't access. There is one I NEED to the point where I cannot run class without it.

That’s the beauty of running VMs for customer-facing applications like yours that’s used for training. Spin up new ones each time, tear them down when you’re done. Rinse, lather, repeat. One bad thing for CrowdStrike out of this besides the obvious - now people know what these companies are
