Smart is a car looking for a reason to exist. In Europe, with a diesel engine,
they're probably an okay deal. You get the good mileage of the diesel with a
car you can actually fit through European streets and find a place to park.
In the US, with a gasoline engine (40mpg, pah!) they're dumb.
I was on I-95 the other day and passed a Smart going about 60-65. It looked
like a soccer ball rolling down the interstate among all the big trucks
