Truth, but maybe more a result of the type of driving Dissel owners do. Diesels tend to be driven longer with fewer cold starts and more miles per start over 100k or so. Gassers are often driven a few blocks and shut off or a mile or 5. Exhausts rust out from short trips and lots of condensat

So is it rumor or truth that diesel exhausts last longer than gas? I think so. More fuel economy means less fuel means less water. Also soot/oily gook helps keep the water off the metal. Diesel exhausts tend to rot at the top, gassers at the bottom. -- Jim
