Another reason why I really like my outdoor kitchen with a gas self cleaning
oven. Now if I just had a dishwasher out there….

The oven and house will forever smell of burning diesel, I'm sure SHMBO
will forgive you. after the divorce is final... ;))

Basically, send SWMBO, and SWMBOette out for lunch, pitch the injector parts in
the oven,
put it on "self clean" and see what happens. When the dynamic duo return, you
get
to say "look Honey, I cleaned the oven."

Hard question, since the component parts are multiple different materials
and to truly restore to the FAA requirement of "As good or better than new
manufacturer standards" required dismantle to component level, then each

So, it's not a f
Grant - what is the specified time and temperature for baking injectors?

I hadn't heard of #9 injector cleaner before this month so I haven't tried it,
but the stuff Grant describes on diesel injectors sounds more like what #9 is
designed to remove (combustion residue) than the varnish on vergasser
injectors.

Both the short and long answer to that question is "NO".
For a nozzle to convert a liquid to atomized droplets requires very close
tolerances between a number of components inside the nozzle. Carbon is a
strong material that doesn't "dissolve easily" and when baked on in the
heat and pressure of c
But more importantly, can you clean your Jet A nozzles with Hoppe’s?
I like to dab a little behind each ear for that “just came from the range”
smell.

Just happens, I have more than passing experience with fuel nozzles used in
Jet A environment and Diesel engines. [Jet A and No 2 diesel are nearly
identical except Jet A has additives to retard gel point [it's cold at
altitude] ]
Bottom line, in BOTH uses, the nozzles become coated with coke and

Now, a lot of you are (gasp) now driving vergassers - which in most cases
now have injectors - hence the post in the first place. After all, what's
not to love about raising the hood and smelling Hopps #9 ???
