Bingo.
The one problem is that if either plug/wire set has issues, both have
issues.
It's a waste spark setup and is quite cost effective.

I was generalizing for the benefit of explaining the concept. As a former
NIASE certified mechanic, I am well aware of the various iterations of coil
packs that are out there.
No need to confuse the boy, just giving him an idea of what they are so he can
conceptualize them.

My 112 V6 has 12 plugs and six double coil packs and when I take the car to
the do-it-yourself car wash twice yearly, I wash them all down thoroughly with
the hot soapy water. Including the alternator and exhaust manifolds, too.
