I always said tars are the best insurance you can buy. (yeah, I've
broken my "rule" too) That is why I bought michelins made in france in
1972, and why I refuse to buy them (made in USA) now. I look for tires

These Starfire tires that were $48 on the 210 seem decent.

If price is really the chief factor, just go to that used tire place in
Rosslyn or the one in Baltimore and pick out something suitable. Usually
you can get pretty good stuff for a fraction of the cheapest chain stuff.

Costco can order any tires of the brands they carry, when I got tires for the
SL they didn’t have the proper tire in stock so it took a few days to get them
in. They should be able to get the Michelins.

Costco will not mount tires unless they sell them, and the local shop does

It appears that you can buy gift cards and send them to any address you choose,
however, if you want to reload them it has to be done in the store by a member.

Questions about Costco gift cards.
Must they be purchased in store, or can they be bought online?
If online, do they have to be shipped to the member or may they be delivered to
the recipient?

How much value is in your, or your loved one life?
Puts a different perspective on "affordable'.
BTW, safety is the reason Dr. Booth started driving Mercedes decades ago.

We define "affordable" differently. I had 7 happy and trouble free years
driving on $45.00 non-Michelin tires.

I have a set I could pull off my TD and send to him, I have some snows
from one of the SDs too that I think are the same size. Shipping and a
small handling fee, we're all good!

I believe Rick pointed out that Costco could get at least one Michelin model in
the W123 size.
And I just noticed that Costco has $110 off on 4 Michelins thru 10/1/2019,
making them about $27 per tire more palatable than usual.

I think the owners manual for the truck states that tires need to be
replaced at 7 years max. That's next year for our 2013 F150 with under
20,000 miles.
I'm replacing the tires on the airplane now that are at least 8 years old
(don't know how mush older with the PO) with more than 50% tread left -
As a standing rule, 5 years is max safe service life for tires. After 5
years casing starts to degrade on the chemistry level. 7 years is the
absolute limit, in my use.
Here in the desert, where road temps routinely exceed 150 F, at 5 years,
the tread is hard, the sidewalls are showing cracks. Cold
Maybe 40K?

The $45 Go Forms are starting to deteriorate after 8 years - not bad for an

I found some decent Nankang H rated all weather tires online @$50, all
inclusive. I will ask Costco to mount/balance them. If all goes well, I
will share my experience with the selling website.

Costco doesn't carry any 195/70/14 tires for my 300TD but if I purchase a
set they will mount and balance them for $10 less per tire than Just
