The local antique machinery club has a two-stroke diesel gen set out of an old
hospital. Similar setup -- blow torch heater on copper ingots bolted through
the head for pre-heaters, but real injectors.
Don't know if they got it running -- the idea was to power a shop with overhead
belts to run
A friend of mine owns the "Whately Engine Museum" in Whately, MA. I need to
finish editing the video of him starting his Metz-Weiss (sp?) semi-diesel
engine. He takes a BIG propane torch (think weed burner) and heats what looks

Oil engine, similar to the page oil engine, but smaller.
You can see why Deere liked it, and bought the company, which evolved
into the Mannheim Works.
