I also have the etrex legend - wife got it for my birthday this year
so we could find out what we really want in a GPS
I got a Garmin Nuvi 680 recently and really like it. It is fast to
recompute, has lots of cool features, big screen, and good battery.
There are lesser-featured Nuvi models for lower prices. I think the
Garmins are highly-rated, some of the Tom-toms too maybe (for much lower
prices). I did
If you want to NOTHING but navigate, look at refurb Garmin 2610 . Mine does
100% job at that, no frills. Old tech, holds entire country of maps, big
screen, bright, only works in the car {no BAttery}.

I've got a Garmin Etrex Legend which is now 2 years old that I've been very
very happy with.

I found the reviews on their web site.

our trip to CT, PA, AR, and back this summer. We used mapquest maps
for the trip, but the GPS came in really handy when we missed turns,

My next door neighbor is looking at getting a GPS receiver. He found that
Consumer Reports doesn't rate them, so he wants me to ask all of you.
He's looking at the Garmin C340 and Garmin NUVI350.
Does anyone know anything about them, or about what makes a good GPS
receiver?
