SD is 5, SDL is 6. SDL started in '86. 300SE started in 89
(vergasser). If it's a SD, it's the 5 cyl. 617 engine. Seems a lot of
folks think anything longer than a 4 cyl. must be a 6 ---

If the tranny will not move it is most likely the front pump seal went
and
pumped out all the fluid, or it is just out of fluid.
There are also the rarer problems like sheared front pump drive
ears, and various broken bands and/or pistons internally.

Is reverse working? If so, it would be a B2 piton failure, no?
