It will depress it - but I'll bet not nearly as much as the
glycols. And the oil probably doesn't raise the boiling point
very much either.

Craig, Good question, and one I do not presently have the answer to. I'll
en devour to make a stop at the shop in next few days and ask that question.
Also, question what the water soluble oil does to freeze point of water.

Would be fine in a warm climate where below freezing temps are not a

Had a radiator shop owner tell me to run straight distilled water with
water soluble oil [machine cutting fluid oil, like is used in CNC
machines.] instead of water / antifreeze mix. His claim is, internal
corrosion and block rust doesn't happen using that cutting oil/ water mix,
and straight water
Water is fine but your overflow tank will turn orange after a bit.

I had a water pump promptly die in a 123 car, when I ran it for a few days with
water. Don't know if there pump died from water (lack of lubrication?) or if
it was simply time for the pump to die.

On a strange car, I usually put in water if weather permits. Then run
it enough to be comfortable, or until the weather dictates it is time
for antifreeze.
