I can’t see how a rational person would pay that much. I would generally think
if a person could afford that kind of money for a classic car, or any car, they
would be smart enough to do a small amount of research and not pay anywhere
near that.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of people that bought those cars and daily drove
them.

Another big payday for Dean Laumbach.
Time to offload some of that old iron Kaleb.

I liked this comment:
For perspective, Hagerty valuation for concours condition
is $56k; in excellent condition $36k.
The new owner is so far upside down in that car that they don't even know which
way is up.

Dean does no restoration work as far as I know. He just does the bare minimum
to polish them up if needed to sell on BAT.

Does he actually do a lot of restoration work or is he just really good at
finding nice cars and shining them up for a flip?

I bet if Dean was selling an Okie car from the back 40 worth $500, he could at
least get $10-20k for it.

But you have to admit, it is a beautiful example. But not worth anywhere near
that in my opinion. If I had a $100k budget to throw away on any car I wanted,
I would be looking for an original Acura NSX.

Maybe if it had provenance, e.g., formerly owned by Herr Daimler.
