Had a' 60's Dodge Dart. Whole dash was all chrome. Nice glare with the
sun in the rear window.
5 Push buttons arranged vertical for the tranny next to a horizontal
arrangement of push buttons for the radio controls.
Tried to change the AM station, missed and hit the reverse button doing 50.

They did. My grandfather had one.

When I used to be a corporate troubleshooter I can't count the number of
times I had to tell people that Don't worry, we've all done it ourselves.
Your only mistake was having someone catch you when it happened
Thank goodness it was something simple. I had no idea the W140 chassis

Heh. Just preparing for my public humiliation, that's all. And yes, I have
done my share of silly things. I have no problem pointing them out, either,
just part of life.

A friend of mine called the dealer to find out why his brand new Nissan wouldn't
start. Did you have your foot on the brake when you hit the 'Start' button?
I hope to never own a car with start and stop
I had a rental a couple of years ago that had the silly Start button and no
ignition. As long as the fob was close enough the car would start (it was in
my pocket.)
I could never shake the need to reach up to the dash with the key and try to
put it into an ignition. Really disturbing.
