Hi Bill,

Like I said before, or rather like I ment before but may not have articulated
very well, if you compare them most cameras in the consumer-prosumer space will
have very similar image quality. Good quality lenses are not terribly expensive
now and all cameras from one manufactuerer will use one tape mechanism or very
close to the same mechanism. So the differences are limited to the specifics of
the glass and the size and number of chip(s) used to create the picture. More
and larger chips give a more crisp picture and better low light, but in
daylight or with good studio lights setup they're really all about the same.
When evaluating what camera to get think about where you're going to be
shooting, is it mostly outside in the sun or inside at events? At night Sony's
Nightshot is pretty amazing. It looks decidedly odd but it can see in cases
where even alot of people can't. The quality suffers but its the difference
between getting the shot and not getting the shot.

Many news organizations now use highend prosumer cameras to reduce cost since
the cameras are everybit as good for what they do as the much more expensive
units they've used in the past.

Color bars and the like are shown beside each camera for the reader to
compare ..... it is not a word comparison but bar, graphic, and the
like
....technical in nature with examples and explains/shows clearly
DAYLIGHT SHOT compared ...... if the light is changed i.e. sun set the
clear winner is $3,000 camera which is well designed for a RANGE of
Light conditions .... The two camera have very close overlapping
quality
within a small range, in this case, Daylight ...... The review was not
a Reader's Digest type, or Consumer Reports which keeps the viewer away
from the technical data...
