My wife commented that Dwight's 240D is missing a map pocket on the passenger's
door which reminded me that the replacement was in the trunk and as we'll need

Now lets see if I can get the red 190D inspected. I went by an hour ago but
the local inspection station was packed... May have to go across 2
I got a letter in the mail once in Houston, someone ratted me out to the
smoke police when they saw Brunnhilde accelerating up the ramp onto the
freeway and laying down a bit of a cloud. It stuggested I get a tune-up
or something. Funny, I thought that is what I was doing!

Oregon has no "inspections" as you East Coasters use the term. We
just have emissions ("DEQ") checks, and then only in the two most

It's a result of people being whacked out about diesel soot, as if a
Benz produced a significant amount. One of the stupid kids down the
road has a "chipped" Dodge with a stack up through the bed of the

they're gasoline
driven; they came from Stuttgart as Diesels and are still Diesels. 'Haven't
had any emissions tests on 'em, yet.

My car has an allen head bolt. My problem is that it was the largest
allen socket I had which is only 3/8 drive. With a 1/2" drive socket
I'd have used the impact wrench...
Ah, I misunderstood. The steering wheel itself can stick, so
when you yank hard on it it flies off and whacks you in the

I did manage to slam myself a good uppercut when the bolt finally let
go...
You leave the nut/bolt in a few threads worth while you slam
on it to break it loose. The bolt catches it, then you remove
the bolt all the way and
Nearly forgot, I replaced the door striker on the passenger's door. For the
past 5 years that door has to be slammed to be shut. Works correctly now...
Its important you don't hurry and mess a job up.

Got my new Harbor Freight compressor going with the glued up sight glass, so
far so good. Aired up the leaky rear tire on Hammie, compressor seems fine so
far.
Decided since I was there to have a whack at the sticky hood release, sprayed
some PB Blaster on it. Got out my spare light bulbs to se
