My 84 300D averaged right at 23MPG for a mix of 70% highway (@ 70) and
30% city driving. Never saw anything better than 25MPG for a full tank
of highway driving.

For some reason the 240 is a dog in all areas except if it has a
manual 4 speed. Not sure what that is all about, but could be that
extra weight the w123 carries that Gump does not.
