[MBZ] O2 Sensor?

Howdy - Saw a part in a catalog for my 91 300D -- a O2 Sensor. Are O2 sensors being used in something like my 91 300D 2.5T?? Not sure why but I thought O2 sensors were only used in gas fuel systems. As I said, not sure where that idea came from - If I have one (didnt see one in the WSM)
