After examining the block from my cracked head OM 617.912 engine a bit
of corrosion is evident at the top of the block where water managed to
get between sleeve and block. The engineering shop recommended I get a
replacement block which I did do but did say that they could boreout the
block and then sleeve the block ( lip at bottom of cylinder ) and then
put in another normal sleeve. Has anyone had success or otherwise with
doing this kind of work? The water jacket is very close!
