Depending on the age of the machines, there is a hardware or BIOS limit of
512MB on memory.

Mac Tracker says, and OWC confirms that the iMac can use max 1gb dimm in each
slot for total of 2gb. The powermac has 8 slots, have to mount in pairs in
both. Powermac can use use 2gb dimms.
Might it be JEDEC incompatible? and not really running at true pc3200 spec.
Powermac 8,1 and 7,2.
