Put one in a Mercedes and you'll probably be disappointed. I suspect that if
your Yanmar diesel is cam'd and timed to make a lot of horsepower at RPM's
different than a road diesel.

Just thought I'd share a hp data point. I'm moving a 34' Wilbur (down east
cruiser) down the Intercostal from Norfolk to Beaufort SC. The thing has a
4cyl Yanmar diesel that puts out 215Hp! max 190 cruise.
I'd be happy if I could get the OM 616 in my little Unimog to make 100Hp. I
swear If they'll leave me at home for a while I'm sticking a turbo and an
intercooler on that thing.
