Stick is brutally efficient. The pipeline guys are just incredible with
that process. I tig welded a mild steel welding table for practice. It took
me days. I could have been done in an afternoon had I just fired up with
some 6013 or whatever. Two summers ago we needed a place to put a huge
cooler,

Welding is one of those things where a hands-on class advances your skills so
much faster than trying to learn by yourself.
The two best classes I ever took were my welding
I’m teaching myself to tig weld. But to be fair, I’ve watched hundreds of hours
of YouTube videos on the matter.
So far I’ve succeeded in tig butt welding 20 gauge steel. Haven’t put more than
a few hours of bench time into yet- those YouTube videos proved to be
invaluable.

The two best classes I ever took were my welding class (which was also the
first time I met Dwight) and my motorcycle safety class.
