Generally the deck is bigger. The whole thing is bigger. They use more
gas. They have more to go wrong. A big ZTR mower probably makes sense if
you cut grass for a living. I know people who are making *payments*
on a Dixie Chopper that they use once a week. Senseless.

Reel mowers won't deal with sticks or heavy grass. I tried them for hand
mowing in spots that getting the mower into was difficult and found the results
unsatisfactory. If you've got a groomed lawn of real grass its probably okay
but heavy crabgrass plugs 'em up quick.
The ATV mowers only make
When I was a kid, I wanted to get a five or seven reel gang mower and tow it
behind a go-kart.
These days, if you have a lot of very smooth acreage to mow, and some kind of
ATV, a gang of wheel driven reels makes sense compared to buying an expensive
riding mower.
