So where is the vacuum shut-off valve, on the back of the IP?

The moral equivalent of the static port on an aircraft - a source of the
ambient air pressure so it can adjust the mixture. The OM615 engine had a
knob to turn as you climbed a mountain to keep from blowing unburnt fuel
out the tailpipe.
