That would be a great feature to have. Since I wasn't driving erratically
at the time I wonder how useful it really is.

Can it discern whether you're tired or just a lousy driver?

Max and I went for brunch after picking up the 97E420 and as I was
leaving the restaurant turning onto a busy highway, I was observing the
various vehicles going by. I would say 95% of those that went by in a
coupla minutes were either white, black, or silver. Very few of any
other color.
My w211 has been in RI all 26 years of its life & no rust. Here 210's
rust on the way home from the showroom

Sure. Avoid anything with Airmatic suspension, and the 2006-2008 ish E350. I
think Dwight has a 2005 E320 4matic. I have heard no complaints from him.

I recall hearing W210s are more rust prone than W211s.
Should one instead look for a W211?

The thing about an OBDII car is that the computers talk to each other and
share diagnostic information that is actually useful. Using the computer you
can target your troubleshooting so you don't need to shotgun parts. Think of
the computer as a particular kind of wrench...

Has anyone seen the coffee cup nanny? I test drove a 2011 Blue Tech sedan
today that had a little coffee Cup logo lit up on the gauge the entire time
I was driving. The icon appears when the nanny senses that you've been
driven driving too long without a break. I guess the image goes away after

Yes. Yes, I do. There are nannies, most are trouble free. A 1993 300D has
nannies too. A computer controls boost, a computer controls the ABS, etc.
A good comparison, although offensive to Dimitri, is a Camry. :) The W210 is
the Camry of early twenty first century

You seem to like that model. Don't they have nannies and require
computers to diagnose and service? I'm thinking I should follow
the KISS principle.

Buy a well sorted, rust free facelift W210.
Or buy one cheap, that can be easily sorted.
