Cool. Did you teach your bride how to correctly hook it up? Make her do it
three times to be sure?

Fixed that and all is good.
Found a fixer upper deal for you at the insurance auction.
Lotus Elise.
Took the trailer connector apart on the truck and found the power wire was just
slightly melted and fused to the right turn signal wire. Fixed that and all is
good.

It was a curt adapter I believe.

Yea, I suspect it’s shorted inside the plug itself. Might not have needed to
replace that module but will see. If the plug is good I’m just going to have to
trace it back I guess

Ugh.
My brother’s SDL got a short in the trunk light, and we had to run quite a bit
of wire to fix the damage.
Trace back the harness, likely the hot wire melted some insulation all along
the way, and you have some shorts in there.

Yep, it does, and you would think it would only go in one way. However
if you try hard enough, it will go in just fine upside down. With these
adapters they sometimes do not have a big enough of a tab to prevent
this. Its not hard to get it in upside down but goes in smooth with it
correct.
And pardon my asking, but was this with a 7 pin (round) trailer connector?
Those have a rib on the plug that will only allow it to be inserted into the
socket one way. I’m confused.

I figured out what she did. She managed to plug the adapter in upside
down which sent the 12 volt acc straight to the ground of the 4 flat on
the trailer. It burned that wire all the way to the frame of the
trailer. In looking at the adapter, the 4 flat ground is fused to the
adapter and I
I guess on the bright side if she was towing it with the GL and the trailer
wiring shorted, it might have fried the rear Sam. It looks like the brake like
module in the back that I suspect it fried is only $25 at the flaps.

Maybe she needs to purchase her own vehicle she will be responsible for. If she
wrecks it or otherwise trashes it she can deal with it.
