So in the 1990 (or what ever) I have a becker mexico 2000 (BE1430)
with active bass, it of course is setup for europe radio station
frequencies so doing scan or auto does not pickup any stations
because of the differences between agreed upon frequencies between
the north america, and europe. I checked with Becker and this radio
does not allow you to reconfigure those settings. The shortware/
longwave also doesn't pickup stations, I believe the anntenna is ok,
I did clean with electrical cleaner every contact and cable I could
find, and my wife says the am/fm reception is iffy.
I was looking at some used becker 1432's but I tripped over a note
saying the change over requires some power wiring changes. Mind I'll
check with Becker in the morning to see if it's plug and play.
So what should I replace it with? Keeping in mind I want something
plain and easy to deal with because I've workable beckers in the
other two cars.
