He is only 14.  He has time to decide.  Encourage him to think about
medical school!  If he likes taking things apart, he could be a Medical
Examiner - if has figured out how to put them back together he could be
a surgeon. :-) 

 

 

Seriously, he could also consider being a patent/intellectual property
attorney.  You have to have a background in science/math/engineering and
you take a separate bar exam.  BUT, the attorneys doing patent and
intellectual property work at large firms demand the highest salaries
and are always hired first (assuming they pass the patent bar which has
an 80% fail rate).
