You plug it into a 12V outlet (cig or other) and run the wire up the A pillar
and across the top then down to the cam. I put mine kinda behind the mirror but
to the left enough where I can see the screen. The wire is not obtrusive and
these actually have a little spudge to pry back the trim to
Mine is a loose wire going to a cigarette lighter power adapter.
I did a hardwired setup with the youngest boy’s 2002 E320 with both front and
rear cameras probably 3 years ago. It’s still working well for him. Wasn’t
difficult to do, I think I tapped off the lighter circuit for the power.
How are these powered? I need to get some for our cars but don’t want wires
hanging down

I was looking for a dashcam for the ML550 a while back, and wanted something
that wasn’t permanent as I might want to move it between cars. I did my due
diligence and ended up buying a Nexar “Beam”.
All I can say is, don’t.
While it records and does GPS and movement and all that stuff, it
