I'd love one, but this is NOT a $39,000 car! Underside is very untidy, and
the wood looks like it was revarnished with a mop! Have to put a bit more
time and money into it, before you can ask this kind of money, even for a
6.3, in my opinion.

Indeed. That car looks like it spent a fair amount of time somewhere wet, ie
Germany. Lots of surface rust on stuff.

OK, I was curious and did some surfing around looking at pictures of 108 engine
compartments. Looks like somewhere between 1970 (the eBay car) and 1972 (my
car), the factory changed the way the paint was applied to the engine
compartment. Earlier cars appear to have had the same treatment as the

major suspension components hanging in the air, disconnected etc. I'm
surprised to hear you guys criticize these... in general, all this work

I think they did not know that it was a work in progress. I would
not have known it either except a lot of that stuff would prevent
the car from being driven I believe. The guy should have made it
clear in the auctions the pictures were taken while work was being
done.

I am thinking that those photos where taken whilst the car was being
worked on because it is my belief that unless the propeller shaft is
connected, there will be little forward movement M100 or not.
Also it seems strange that it is low optioned, no sunroof or cruise. I
always thought the 6.3/6

suspension) and 109 trim (hydro suspension)
M100 parts are very expensive(when you can get them), the 3.5 motor
(m116) was used in the 116 and 107 chassis as well and parts are much
more getable.

The 108/109 models did not have cruise control, including the 6.3. This
option was introduced in the 450SE in 1973.
Not sure when vacuum locks were introduced but I know they were installed in
my W115 1973 280 sedan though not in my European version W108 1970 280SE
