Flex pipes are a PIA on my 123 wagon. Had to replace one (SS) twice
due to cracking. Luckily, it was under the TimeValve waranty.

Yes I do have one - from the '90 300d 2.5, but it's cracked also,
which is why I replaced it with a new one from Rusty

Flex pipe? Mine is VERY flexy, being a woven covered something or
other and not a corrogated flex pipe at all.
There is a flex coupling in there at the rear of the turbo, but it's
not part of the pipe at all, being about 6" long if I remember
correctly.
There should be a trap catalyst install
Anybody got the front exhaust section for a 87 300TD (not sure if sedan
is the same). This is the flex section from the turbo to the rear
exhaust section. My flex pipe is cracked and very annoying even though
it is almost brand new, replaced with the trap recall not too long ago
with Chris Mc
