Trap Oxidizer was swapped out under factory campaign in my 617 Calif 300D early on, and whatever it was they put in then was replaced with yet another unit (that i was told was a Catalytic Converter) a few years back... of course it doesn't get very dirty anyway, since i'm almost always using B

There is a recommended procedure for the dealer service department to use to "clear" the trap, but it always fails (involves driving at high rpm in second gear, I think). Really just confirms that the trap is plugged well and truely, and that the recall can be performed, as most dealers won't
