Correction, Mercedes never made a 3 liter turbodiesel automobile with a
manual 4 or 5 speed transmission. There was a 602.96 2.5 liter (in a 201
chassis I think) available in Europe for a couple of years in the early

All the euro 123 series 300D sedans were non-turbo (wagons were
available with or without turbos) while all the in the US 123 300D
sedans after '81 were turbo!
